Historic Houses AGM and The Historic Buildings Parks & Gardens Event – November 2025

We believe championing history and heritage matters, which is why we are a proud Historic Houses corporate member.

We attended the organisation’s AGM, which also featured knowledgeable speakers, interesting keynotes, fire-side chats, a governmental speech and insightful discussions. The topics covered ranged from the importance of alliances, inheritance tax, public access, restoration work approaches and the condition exemption scheme to involving younger generations, harnessing AI in advantageous ways, security concerns and (surprise!) funding/grants.

We think Historic Houses President Jason Lindsay summed up the joy and necessity for safeguarding cultural patrimony when he remarked, “Caring for the past paves the way for a bitter future.” Hear, hear!

Importantly, the day also included the Historic Houses awards – congratulations to the worthy winners!

Alongside the AGM, Hall-McCartney Limited staged the popular Historic Buildings Parks & Gardens Event, where attendees were treated to some intriguing presentations about antique window care, stucco production, unique collection storage options and more.

As ever, coffee and tea breaks also served as moments for networking – we certainly met some fascinating and erudite people!

It was particularly lovely to catch up with the brilliant Historic Houses team who greeted us warmly – which tells us our membership is appreciated and makes a difference.
