Theatre Conference – June 2026
We once again joined an array of #TheatreFamily suppliers at this year’s Theatre Conference at Southbank Centre. Like last year, the weather was balmy, and the warmth with which we were greeted by the brilliant UK Theatre/SOLT team matched our enthusiasm for this annual event – a great opportunity for friendly introductory chats with prospective customers and animated catch-up chats with existing customers.
The day kicked off with an invigorating keynote by the wonderful actor, writer, activist and advocate for the multifaceted contribution of theatre to communities and beyond, the truly inspirational Julie Hesmondhalgh.
Happily, our marketplace display of vibrant print invariably proves an exciting talking point among attendees. We often heard, “Oh, I love that show – seen it three times!”, or “I’ve got that programme at home!” Especially rewarding are the moments when a delegate proudly spots their own What’s On guide, programme or advert – or even a leaflet that was distributed by our fantastic partner, Direct Publicity.
As always, we reminded attendees of our products and services beyond printed programmes such as graphic design, editorial, mailing, banners, window decals, selfie-frames, sheet posters and signage. Plus, many of our conversations resonated around our diversity of efficient kit and green credentials like our Carbon Balanced Printer certification, sustainable papers, LED lighting and rooftop solar panels.
Besides networking opportunities, there was an agenda that included important topics like navigating political uncertainty, organisational clarity, nurturing new audiences, touring ecology, AI literacy, accessibility and integrating sustainability. Each topic was brought to life by knowledgeable panellists and speakers who raised important questions and provoked thoughtful discussions, leaving delegates with ideas to implement in their respective venues and organisations.
It was a long but gratifying day, reminding us of the diversity, passion and collaborative spirit of the theatre sector. We are fortunate to have membership organisations like SOLT and UK Theatre that support and create an environment for industry-wide progress and honest dialogue about collective challenges. We like to think that our offering can play a part in some of the solutions!
Thanks to the everyone who stopped by to speak with our Head of Arts and Culture, Beckie Rodgers, and our Group Communications Manager, Till Siegers.
