UK Musical Theatre Conference – April 2026
A sizeable portion of the theatre programmes we produce are for musical theatre shows and we love them! A few of them were nascent from workshops and events curated by our friends and colleagues at Mercury Musical Developments.
We were once again delighted to return to their flagship event, the Musical Theatre Conference, as a sponsor. This year’s event was hosted by the swanky SOHO Theatre Walthamstow.
There was much discussion, debate and constructive provocation, both in the auditorium with expert panels, as well as more intimate breakouts that lent themselves to exchanges that had a fun workshop feel. Topics raised ranged from balancing the commercial with the communal and artistic, involving everyone in solving the puzzle of climate change and being excited about the worthwhile risk of global majority storytelling, to the role of dance in musical theatre, drilling down to glean the most out of data and embedding creative access for all disabilities.
There was also time to network and it’s always a pleasure to catch up with familiar faces and make new #TheatreFamily connections. We’ll happily admit to being buoyed by enthusiastic comments about our programmes and the team members who produce and manage them!
Of course, we delivered various print elements for the day, including the handy conference guide, helpful table talkers and striking banners. We like to think these contributed to another successful conference!
#UKMTConference is co-produced with Musical Theatre Network.
